The Round Valley Indian Health Center is a non-profit corporation established in 1968, designed to offer health care to the people of our community. The Health Center is located in Covelo, a remote valley community in Northern Mendocino County, 25 miles east of Highway 101 and an additional 15 miles from the nearest hospital and emergency services in Willits, California. The Round Valley Indian Health Center provides primary health care to approximately 3,000 people living in Covelo and the adjacent Round Valley Indian Reservation. The Reservation was established in 1856 and is the ancestral homeland of the Yuki Nation and home to six other Indian Tribes. The Health Center staff is dedicated not only to treatment, prevention, and patient education, but also recognizes traditional Indian Medicine and holistic healing.

The Office of Services to the Blind (OSB) provides information and referral on services, programs, entitlements, and products of benefit to individuals who are blind or low vision and their families or service providers. OS B staff assists such individuals in understanding the availability of services, their eligibility for services, and the purpose and scope of the various service programs.

The National Federation of the Blind will distribute a plastic, four - line, twenty - eight cell slate along with a saddle stylus to those that need them. That includes those that are blind and low vision who know Braille or want to learn Braille.

The white cane gives blind people the ability to achieve a full and independent life, allowing us to travel freely and safely.

RCMS opened in 1977, incorporated and licensed as a community clinic in 1978 and was designated in 1999 as a Federally Qualified Health Center 330(e). The RCMS Urgent Care Department is one of only a few clinics in California that is designated by the state as an Interim Stabilization Facility, allowing the clinic to receive ambulance transports. The RCMS service area is designated by California as one of a total of 56 Rural Frontier Medical Service Study Areas (MSSA) as well as a primary Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). Since its inception, RCMS has played an integral role in the community and has a track record of developing programs to meet stated community needs. In turn, the success of community fundraising events and campaigns is a testament to the value the community places on RCMS. We are grateful for your support!

We became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing general and migrant health services in 2011. 60% of our staff is bilingual in Spanish and English and we offer dental, behavioral and medical health services.

Narcotics Anonymous Is a fellowship of recovering addicts who are living their lives, one day at a time, without the use of drugs. We meet re gularly to help each other stay clean. It costs nothing to become a member of N.A. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using.
